Thriving in Transition

IMG_1454.JPG

"If I have learned anything over the years regarding transition it is this —  it is inevitable. There is no avoiding it. It will happen. Change is the one constant in life. We have a choice to make regarding this inevitable experience. We can despise it, run from it, and resist it, or we can embrace it, learn from it, and thrive! I have done both. As I look back on the seasons of change in my life they have all benefited me in some way. The seasons I resisted taught me that these things only cycle back around in my life, so I should just learn the lesson the first go round. The seasons that I embraced it, I learned to value the growth and lessons learned in the process."

Releasing Your Potential

Book promo for social media2_Fotor.jpg

"There are various reactions to the term, “Potential”. It can be used as an encouragement of what can be achieved or it can be used as an indictment for underachieving. Some people love the word potential because it gives them hope for what is possible, while others avoid it because of the reminder of wrong decisions and perceived failure. The very definition of the word lends itself to this dual usage. Potential is a latent excellence or ability that may or may not be developed. It’s the “may or may not” part that gets us. It seems to make this the responsibility of someone and opens the door to either excuses or blame. I choose to write from the perspective of hope balanced with the recognition of responsibility."
